You can follow me on Future Learn to find out what I've been studying and what I've been saying in class.

Now, I don't finish all the classes I start, but I do finish quite a few.  I've learnt how to cook for a medieval king, how to find a spleen on an anatomy chart, how to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus, and I'm beginning to learn how to make a musical instrument out of javascript.

The most fun I've had was making the Plantagenet pie, but the discussion has been illuminating.  Students from all over the world, many of whom teach the subject in school or even at university, share insights on topics that they are expert at.

And, some of the world's most renowned experts actually teach the courses.  I shared a link to the Battle of Waterloo with a Waterloo tour guide, and the guide actually heard of the instructor, saying the instructor was one of the best known experts in the field.

Try it out.

I've also found great courses on Coursera and EDX, and both have excellent courses, but I find communicating with other students easiest on futurelearn.

I've also tried FUN, the French site.  There are a few good courses there, but they are very time limited.

Futurelearn has courses from Korea, New Zealand, the UK, Israel, Holland and elsewhere.

Aberystwyth Arts Centre Film Society new season

The Aberystwyth Arts Centre Film society has a new season lined up, which starts in April, (yes, it's almost April already), but you wouldn't know that by looking at the Arts Centre website.

According to the arts centre, you can see Medea and Enfants du Paradis in August.

It's been said that the Romantic comedy is in decline, that the stories are becoming more contrived or out there.  But is that the case?  Can great Romantic Comedies still be made?

Dara Says crowdfunding campaign rumored to be restarted

The filmmakers behind Dara Says were asking for a record breaking 129,000 pounds to fund their project.  Well, it seemed to be a record on PleaseFund.us anyway.

Although they brought in what would seem like a respectable amount for their film, it was nowhere enough to hit their target.

Well, it is rumoured that they are back for more.  Is their goal higher this time?  Will they hit their target?  Have they learned from the first campaign?  Not sure.

What is a terrorist?

Some anonymous dorks decided to hack GoDaddy on the 11th anniversary of September 11 2001.  They dress themselves as the original terrorist, the ultraconservative religious fanatic who tried to blow up an elected government.

But, are these idiots terrorists?

Well, they don't kill people, at least, not directly.  They may hurt some people's income though.  By attacking small businesses, they may end up making a few people unable to pay bills and rent.

They suck basically.  I'm now going to vote for any SOPA, PIPA, or whatever politician just because I hate these dorks.   Whatever Anonymous was against, I'm in favor of.  Whatever they were in favor of, I'm against. 

They attack government websites when the government says things they don't like.  They attack people's right to freedom of information.  By attacking the internet, they don't hurt the big powers.  Hollywood and Washington carry on as usual.  They hurt the little guy, the one who wants to learn, the small business who needs to communicate.

Anonymous can kiss my butt, and I'll crap on their face.

Has society changed?  If so how?  Yes, we've changed with technology, our ideology is different.  But do we really value different things than people did back then?  And how can we know that?
